A hole in the ground.

We are careful not to fall or step into it.
Otherwise we don't think anything of it.
 

But if we look closer, if we pay attention we see and feel that there are many holes.

They surround us, they are in us, in our heads, in our hearts.
Some are dangerous. We can fall into it, without return.

Or they suck us up.
 

False promises can bore into our brains and leave holes until

our mind is like a worn-out fishing net drifting through

the vastness of the oceans without ever being able to form a thought again.

Every loss tears a hole in our soul, diseases leave holes that cannot be sewn up.
 

Sometimes we dig ourselves a hole. When we want to withdraw or hide.
We let the exit collapse and there is no turning back.
